A while back, I had written apost which briefly touched on the touchy subject of married women and their names. In this post, I had put forth my view point, namely that I did not mind changing my surname post marriage. One of the interesting comments on that was from a lady, whose view point was a little different from mine. At the time, I was a qu... more...

Memory.........
Memory is often used to recollect bad experiences, feelings rather than using it to recall / remember good expereinces or feelings; In most cases, left to itself, our mind tries to recollect bad experiences/feelings and never, as a rule, recollects experiences that had positive effect on us. I had this experience recently when I casually advised on...  more...

Coconut Trees !!!!
In the recent years overgrown coconut trees have become the speciality of Bangalore city. Echoes of the Past
By Sanjeev VermaCinema—and I usually say this when the wife is out of earshot—is my first love. For me it’s cinema. Or films. Never movies. I painstakingly—and I am sure gratingly—object to even my nine-year-old son calling them movies. Why, he asks? Aren’t they synonyms—films, cinema, movies, et al? No they most certainly not. Movies, I maintain, ...  more...

My dad always told-"there is just a hairline difference between a genius and a mad" and both of them actually never realized that they were one of these. Life is boring without 20-20
I miss the 20-20 a lot. It was a great three hours entertainment. BCCI should have more 20-20s and less of ODIs.It is good to see some of Rajasthan Royal Players, Shane Watson and Yusuf Pathan, make it to the national sides. I have a feeling with the way Dhoni is using Yusuf Pathan that Dhoni is setting Yusuf for failure. You can see the difference ...  more...

‘Eating the Earth’!
Eating meat, dairy and eggs threatens our planet. You use much less land and water if you eat crops directly. Animals use most of the protein they eat to live, not 'grow' meat. So eating meat adds to water shortages, forest clearing, soil damage, use of oil-based pesticides - and climate change. "By 2050 the world's livestock will be consuming as m...  more...
